FEMA is to announce the date of this year’s national EAS test, according to an article published by Radio World.

The publication confirms that FEMA will conduct a national test of the Emergency Alert System, along with its mobile Wireless Emergency Alerts counterpart later this year.

This comes after the Federal Communications Commission, along with FEMA, elected not to test the national alerting system in 2022.

Results collected from the 2021 national EAS test showed signs of improvement, along with a decrease in reported complications.

The FCC says that it is critically important that widely-monitored EAS participants use testing to ensure working order in their EAS equipment.

GWES will continue to follow this story for the latest developments.

Once a date is available, GWES will update it’s EAS Test Schedule Calendar

This is a developing story. This article will be updated as new information becomes available.
