Terms of Service – WeatherRadio

By accessing or using GWES WeatherRadio (“Service”), operated by the Global Weather & EAS Society (“GWES”), you agree to comply with and be bound by these Terms of Service (“Terms”). If you do not agree with these Terms, please do not use the Service.  

GWES WeatherRadio is an online platform that allows individuals to stream their local NOAA Weather Radio station to a centralized system. This Service is designed to foster a community of enthusiasts and professionals who share an interest in weather and/or emergency alert systems.  

• Any abuse or manipulation of streams is strictly prohibited. This includes altering the stream’s content in any way from the official over-the-air broadcast, broadcasting unauthorized or inappropriate content, and any other form of misuse. Violation of this policy may result in the immediate termination of the offending stream. 

• Users must not engage in any activity that could harm or disrupt the Service, other users, or the general public. This includes distributing viruses, malware, or any other harmful software. 

• Users are prohibited from using the Service to transmit any content that is unlawful, defamatory, harassing, abusive, fraudulent, obscene, or otherwise objectionable. 

• Users must not use the Service to infringe on the intellectual property rights of others, including copyrights, trademarks, patents, or trade secrets. 

• Stations must maintain a reasonable quality to remain on the Service. This includes clear audio without significant interruptions or noise. GWES reserves the right to remove stations that do not meet these standards. 

• Users should regularly monitor their streams to ensure they meet these quality standards. Persistent failure to maintain stream quality may result in removal from the Service. GWES will make attempts to notify you before removal from the Service. 

• Users will be provided with a unique username and password to stream to the Service. It is the user’s responsibility to keep this information secure. 

• If a security breach of the username and password is known or suspected, users must contact [email protected] immediately to request a password reset. 

• Sharing of usernames and passwords is strictly prohibited. Discovery of shared credentials by administrators could result in stream termination. 

• Users must not attempt to gain unauthorized access to other users’ accounts, or the systems and networks connected to the Service. 

• Users should interact with each other respectfully and professionally. Harassment, bullying, or any form of discriminatory behavior will not be tolerated. 

• Users should respect the privacy of others. Do not share personal information about other users without their explicit consent. 

Users are encouraged to report any violations of these Terms to GWES at [email protected]. GWES will review all reports and take appropriate action.  

The Service is provided for informational and entertainment purposes only. It should not be used as a primary source of information for life-saving measures. Users should rely on official NOAA Weather Radio broadcasts in their local area and other authoritative sources for critical weather and emergency information. GWES cannot be held responsible for misuse of this service.  

GWES reserves the right to terminate or suspend access to the Service immediately, without prior notice or liability, for any reason, including without limitation if you breach the Terms.  

To the maximum extent permitted by law, GWES shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of profits or revenues, whether incurred directly or indirectly, or any loss of data, use, goodwill, or other intangible losses, resulting from (a) your use or inability to use the Service; (b) any unauthorized access to or use of our servers and/or any personal information stored therein.  

GWES reserves the right to modify or discontinue, temporarily or permanently, the Service (or any part thereof) with or without notice. You agree that GWES shall not be liable to you or to any third party for any modification, suspension, or discontinuance of the Service.  

These Terms shall be governed and construed in accordance with the laws of the United States, without regard to its conflict of law provisions.  

If any provision of these Terms is found to be invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions will remain in full force and effect.  

These Terms constitute the entire agreement between you and GWES regarding the use of the Service and supersede any prior agreements between you and GWES.  

The standard GWES Privacy Policy will be followed in all operations of the Service. Users can view it by going to globaleas.org/privacy.
